Hot Take - Don't Use Workday Student Delivered Reports

The Workday Student delivered reports are a great starting point for lookup reports. But...there's a problem. You can't customize them.

But there's a simple solution. To customize Workday delivered reports, you should make a copy of them immediately. Then, you can customize the copy.

In fact, Workday makes it super easy to adapt standard report copies to meet your needs using this work-around by letting you hide their original Workday delivered report. This allows you to keep the same name as what they provided. 

My Recommendation for Workday Student Reports

I recommend making these copies at the beginning of your implementation even if you don't think you need any changes.

If you wait until later down the line and then you realize you do, you may have to built out a user interface that links to that Workday delivered report. Now you have more work to switch out to your custom report.

So, you could copy it and make no changes until you realize you want to add something. You get the same experience with the custom report as you would with the delivered report.
